The latest addition to the stable is a 1994 Ford Taurus SHO (Super High
Output)
The SHO was one of the fastest cars on
the road when it was being produced, thanks to a 220 horsepower 3.2
liter Yamaha V6 (with the automatic - the 5-speed manual cars had a 3.0
liter V6). This is a Generation 2 SHO (1992-1995). The
first generation SHO only came with a 5-speed manual
transmission. The third generation cars were of the new "round"
Taurus body-style and came with a V8. Ironically enough, the V6
SHOs were faster.
I love it because it is a sleeper. To see it coming down the
road, you just think it's another family sedan. However, it
really does move along quite quickly, if I do say so myself. I am
technically the second owner. The car was driven as a demo for
two years by the dealer's son, then Karen Foertsch and her husband
bought and drove it for the next nine years. I bought the car
from Karen via her son, Chris, who is a big station wagon freak like
me.
