Mark and Rose Nagel's 1967 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible on Route 66 homeward bound on the day they bought it.

Some of my friends have had some pretty awesome cars, but few compare with this one, owned by Karl Kirchner!
The Black Beauty!!!
This is one of two 66 Imperials customized by Dean Jeffries for the Green Hornet television show.  The car was driven by Bruce Lee.

The Mousemobile

My buddy, Frank (who I swim with) owned this beautiful 59 Corvette which he sold before he moved to the Windy City from Seattle!

These pictures are of one of my best friends, Victor, and his BMW 330ci.

Lisa Brown's 1970 Mach 1

Cindy Landers' '70 1/2 Camaro Rally Sport

The car that started it all.  This was the first car I went insanely fast in that was not driven by my mother or brother.  It was a 1970 1/2 Camaro Rally Sport with a 307ci engine and a 3-speed manual transmission.  It was driven by my sister's pal, Cindy Landers.  Her father intentionally taught her how to drive fast.  (He had played football for the Green Bay Packers in the 50s and legend had it that he led the Nevada state police in a high-speed chase in a '59 Cadillac before they stopped him at a roadblock.  Cindy could out-drive all the guys in our town and as an 8 year-old in the back seat, I was in hog heaven.  Ever since then I've had a love for 1970 1/2-73 Camaros (especially with the Rally Sport option).  For more RS Camaros, check out the Pony Cars page.

Mike Melvin's 1969 Camaro

Mike was my sixth grade English teacher when he was 24 and I was twelve.  When my folks separated, he became like a big brother, and then a great friend.  He gave me this picture because I was so good about keeping track of pictures.  Over 20 years later, I still have the photo.

Stig Marcussen's 75 Pontiac Grand Am

When I was a senior in high school, I dreamed my mum bought this very car for me.  When I woke up and the Bobcat was still in the yard, I was really sad!

The cars of Larry's Paint and Body in Ocean Springs, MS.

My friend, Jim Lantrip, got a job at Larry's Paint and Body after school.  I used to drive him home after I got off from the Research Lab.  I spent so much time there, they eventually started paying me.  One of the advantages of working there was getting to drive a bunch of cool cars.  These are a few of them lined up in front of the shop.  Jim got to take the Orange 1972 Corvette to prom in 1981.  It was the Corvette Class Champion for some racing association at the time.

Larry promised I could take the 'Vette out on the night I graduated from high school.  Unfortunately, he shot six holes in the hood the week before graduation.

Jean's Dream and another custom 'Vette Larry did.

Jim's 1969 Buick while we prepared it for painting

Roger Kuehn's parents went to Germany and bought a 1982 Corvette and they sent me this picture.  Sure, they buy a Vette after we are old enough to drive and while they are an ocean away!

Lorette's Amigo

This beast got me to buy my own Amigo in 1992.

Lynne Booth's '78 Z28

Lynne Booth's '78 Z28

Lynne' brother Mark was one of my best friends in high school.  We had more fun than any 16 people should be allowed to have, even though he's a red dog.  Lynne got this car when I was freshman in high school.  The first time I saw it, I was helping Bob Capers mow his lawn.  Lynne stopped and took me for a ride (sweaty though I was), and I was hooked.  I obsessed about this car my entire high school career!

Mark Booth and his '85 Mercury Capri RS

Mark is one of the few people my age who may have had more cars than me.  He'd had seven cars before we graduated college.  He's been pretty stable since he
moved to Texas.  I think I passed him when I came to Chicago and could not decide what car/truck was best for the unpredictable Chicago weather.  .

The Capri and the 'Bird after being washed on Christmas Day 1987

Mark and I would wash our cars and then go and drive each other's cars on the highway so we could see how great they looked when they were clean!
