Phase 1

I have named the car Orca 77.

Phase 1 involved the following:

New tires
Replacing the brakes and master cylinder
Repairing the driver door and installing it on the car
Installing complete new exhaust system rear of the catalytic converter
Replacing the rsuted out floor pan on the drivers' side

Jim had taken the door off in order to repair it.  The fiberglass had separated from the metal.

The door has now been repaired and placed back on the car!

We originally had planned to just shore up the driver's side floor pan and then replace the whole thing in the winter.
Our plans had to change when I put my foor through the floor.  This is the piece we took out.
We replaced it with a piece of sheetmetal.  We still plan to replace the entire floorpan this winter.

We put Orca 77 on blocks so we could take the wheels in to get new tires and so we could replace the exhaust.

This is a picture of the undercarriage before the new exhaust.  There should be mufflers on both sides of the spare tire cover.

The new exhaust system with high performance mufflers.

The new tires and the exhaust system (still in boxes).  Lorette said it seemed like every other day the UPS man would arrive with a large box.  Before it was always for Jim, now she gets to play "Is this for Jim or is it for Channing?"

Success - new tires and exhaust system installed!

I also cleaned the interior as much as I could.  New seats this winter, as well!

Jim adjusts the steering.

This is where all of the work gets done - Jim and Lorette's house in Tinley Park!
